FREE TAX PREPARATION SERVICE

If your adjusted gross income was $57,000 or less in 2009, you can use this free service to help you prepare your taxes.  Robert Sims is a member of Rock Brook Church and a Contact Representative of the IRS.  He will be assisting interested parties in completing their tax returns and filing them electronically using the “Free File” system provided online by the IRS.

The “Free File” provides these benefits:

·      It automatically checks your return for accuracy.

·      Gets you a faster refund, in 10 days or less, with Direct Deposit.

·      You know that your return is safe and secure.

Qualifying individuals should sign up at the information table in the foyer and pickup a list of items needed for your appointment.  Robert will contact you to confirm the time and date.  You may also contact Robert at 322-9559 if you have any questions.

This service is offered by Robert Sims as a free service to Rock Brook Church attendees.  Mr. Sims does not represent Rock Brook Church in any capacity regarding this service.  All private tax information will be held in strictest confidence and none will be retained by Mr. Sims after your filing is complete.

Also this year, the IRS and its partners are offering a new option called “Free File Fillable Forms”, which opens up Free File to virtually everyone, even those whose incomes exceed $57,000.  There is no personal assistance provided with this system.  “Free File Fillable Forms” will allow taxpayers to fill out and file their tax forms electronically, just as they would on paper.  This option does not include an “interview” process like the other Free File offerings, but it does allow taxpayers to enter their tax data, perform basic math calculations, sign electronically, print their returns for recordkeeping and e-file their returns.  This “self-service” option may be right for those who are comfortable with the tax law, know what forms they want to use or don’t need assistance completing their returns.

“Free File Fillable Forms” are available only through the IRS.gov Web site.
