 Small Group FAQ's 

  

What is their purpose?

To change lives through building relationships and focusing on God’s Word. Small groups help each person to become healthy Christians by balancing five biblical purposes (Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry, Evangelism, Worship).

What abilities do I need?

The willingness to be a participant.

Who can join a small group?

Anyone. You do not have to be a member of Rock Brook Church to join a small group.  We do ask that you make a comittment to stick with a group for 6 to 8 weeks.

How many people are in a small group?

2 to 12 people is the ideal number of people to maintain a healthy group.

Who can lead a small group?

Only a member of Rock Brook Church can lead a small group. You also need a H.O.S.T. attitude.

Heart for people, Open your home, Serve refreshments, Turn on TV and DVD for teaching

What goes on in a small group?

In the first 15 to 20 minutes group members spend time talking to get know each other. After some good conversation the group will spend 30 minutes to 1 hour  in their weekly bible study, discussion questions and/or plan for group events. Groups wrap up their time together with prayer.

When/where do they meet?

Once a week for about 1 1/2 hours at various members’ homes.
