OUR GOAL

THE LORD'S PURPOSE PREVAILS...
Many people are living life for their problems. We believe God has given us something bigger than our problems or pressures to live for. Proverbs 19:21 says, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” We believe a strong church is built on five eternal purposes of God.

1. We are designed to WORSHIP Christ... God made you to love you, and for you to love him back. Reconciling a relationship with God begins with believing in Jesus. Any time we're receiving Christ's love and expressing our love to Him, we're worshiping. We believe worship shouldn't be a religious duty. We gather to worship Jesus because we want to magnify and exalt his name.

2. We are to BELONG to Christ's family... We're called to believe, and also to belong. Our church provides a warm, authentic community, welcoming new believers into the body of Christ through baptism. Being in God's family means we are not alone; we have each other for support. You weren't just meant to believe, you were made to belong.

3. We are meant to GROW in Christ... Our church helps people grow in their character. After someone has made a decision for Christ, it is our responsibility to develop them to spiritual maturity, teaching them to obey Christ and become more like him in their thoughts, feelings, and actions. While this takes time, growing in Christ is God's will for every believer.

4. We are called to SERVE Christ... Here on Earth, we serve Christ by serving others. Serving is showing God's love to others by meeting their needs and healing their hurts in the name of Jesus. We believe the church is to help meet all kinds of needs: spiritual, emotional, relational, and physical. Every time you reach out in love to someone else, you are serving Christ by serving them. The Bible says that when you give a cup of cold water in Christ's name, that counts as ministry.

5. We are to SHARE Christ with unbelievers... That’s also called missions or witnessing. We are ambassadors for Christ and believe it is our responsibility to share the Good News wherever we go. In fact, sharing Christ is more than our responsibility; it is our great privilege. As long as there is someone who doesn't know Jesus, we will continue to reach out.

We see these five tasks throughout the New Testament. They are summarized by Jesus in the five actions of the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
The Great Commandment
"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” — Matthew 22:36-40

The Great Commission
"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” — Matthew 28:19-20

We believe a great commitment to the great commandment and the great commission will grow a great church!
